Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly wanted by Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the summer transfer window – but Mauricio Pochettino’s side will have to splash out to land the France star.
Here, Express Sport looks at three players United could demand in part exchange to fill some key positions in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
There is also some uncertainty over the goalkeeping position at United, with Dean Henderson expected to start next season as Solskjaer’s No1.
That could result in David de Gea seeking a move – and as one of Europe’s top keepers, Navas would be an excellent replacement.
The 34-year-old’s experience could aid Henderson’s devleopment, and he would be a top-class option to call upon as United chase silverware on four fronts next season.
Solskjaer is expected to sign a long-term defensive partner for Harry Maguire this summer, with Raphael Varane considered the top option.
But United may not be willing to meet Real Madrid’s £80million valuation for Varane – and PSG’s interest in Pogba could help the Red Devils sign Marquinhos instead.
The 27-year-old centre-back is PSG’s captain and had three years left on his contract, but has also been linked with interest from Chelsea.
Alternatively, United could target Presnel Kimpembe, who at 25 is a younger option and is left-footed so could help to balance United’s defence.
