According to 90Min, Bruno Fernandes has recommended Ruben Neves to Manchester United amid talks with Arsenal.
It’s claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers intend to sell both Neves and winger Adama Traore in order to raise funds for new boss Bruno Lage.
Arsenal have been favourites to land Neves, but United are now keen – and international teammate Fernandes has now recommended a move.
ARSENAL’S TALKS FOR NEVESReports broke last week of Arsenal’s interest in Neves, as the Gunners look to sign him as a replacement for Granit Xhaka.
The Daily Mail reported just a matter of days ago that Wolves are expecting a bid from Arsenal have held preliminary talks over a deal.
Wolves are seeking a fee of around £41million, the same fee they landed for Diogo Jota when they sold him to Liverpool in 2020.
United do need to find another central midfielder, and a ball-player like Neves may fit well alongside the athletic ability of Scott McTominay whilst having that connection with Fernandes.
The Red Devils do though have other midfield options, and Arsenal’s need is a little more desperate given Xhaka’s imminent exit and the departure of Dani Ceballos.
United have Champions League football though, and if they take Fernandes’ recommendation seriously, they could become favourites.
