Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has said that he is not better than Chelsea star N’Golo Kante, as quoted in.
The Daily Mail has claimed that someone jokingly suggested Phillips is better than France international defensive midfielder Kante.
The England international responded: “Sadly, I would have to disagree.
That is precisely why Phillips is loved and adored by the Leeds fans,The 25-year-old was playing in the Championship just 12 months ago, and now he is going to the European Championship with England.
Despite this achievement, the Leeds star has stayed humble and is not getting ahead of himself.
Kante is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, perhaps even the best.
The 30-year-old is at the top of his game and at the peak of his career.
The former Leicester City midfielder was arguably the best player in the Champions League final this past season.
Kante has been doing it at the highest level for several years now, and Phillips knows that.
But, the Leeds star could get better in the coming years.
After all, Phillips is still only 25.
What is remarkable is that despite having played in the Premier League for just one season, Phillips is going to the Euro 2020 finals with England.
In fact, there is a very good chance that Phillips could actually start for the Three Lions.
