Thomas Tuchel is weighing up the potential inclusion of Armando Broja in his Premier League squad for next season, with contract talks for the Chelsea academy product imminent, according to reports.
Broja, 19, spent the 2020/21 campaign on a season-long loan at Vitesse, in which he netted 10 Eredivisie goals over 31 appearances in the Dutch top flight.
The Albania international penned his first professional contract with the Blues in February 2020 and made his only senior appearance for the west London club as a substitute in the Premier League a month later.
But with that deal set to expire in the summer of 2022, Sky Sports report that talks over a new contract are set to begin.
Chelsea strikers Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud look likely to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window, meaning Tuchel is exploring his forward options for next season.
And Sky claim that the German boss is considering bringing Broja into his squad for the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
In terms of potential incomings in the striker department, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Harry Kane have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Former Blue Romelu Lukaku has also reportedly been placed on Tuchel’s wishlist, but the Belgium international has insisted that he is keen on staying at Inter Milan, despite Antonio Conte’s departure.
‘Yes, I am staying,’ Lukaku told HLN earlier this week. ‘I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager.
‘Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation.
‘There’s also the challenge of doing it again [winning the league with Inter]. I feel good at Inter.’
